Frequently asked questions

How is coaching different than therapy?

As a Rapid Results trained coach, I am most concerned with the following: helping you clarify your goal and vision for your future, up leveling any skills you might need, creating an environment that supports the change you are working toward, create a strategy or action plan to get you where you want to go and help you learn to manage your mind and emotions along the way.

How many sessions will I need?

That is a difficult one to answer because it is so individual.  Most of us would do well to consider a 6-month commitment to weekly sessions.  This is enough time to make some good progress toward your goals and allow you enough time to bump up against the inevitable obstacles that will arise. It’s good to have someone supporting you through those difficult transitions. All of that said, we would have a much clearer idea on time commitment after your introductory session.

What is the difference between individual and group coaching?

Individual coaching is specifically tailored to you and the goal you have set out to attain.  The process is personalized and moves at a pace that matches your ability to progress.  Small group coaching can be more cost effective for many people since the cost is shared over a cohort of 6-10 people.  Group coaching is organized around a shared general goal and also allows for individual nuance.  The bonus is group support and comradery.  The pace of forward progress is generally a bit slower.

What’s an Insight Coach?

One of the main reasons we do not move forward toward what we want is because of obstacles we put in our own way because of our thinking/feeling patterns.   An insight coach is someone who is especially good at spotting these, many times, complex patterns.  An insight coach can grasp these complexities and make the connections between them and the behaviors that result.  Then we can shift our behaviors!

Does my health insurance cover the cost of coaching?

Not usually.  Coaching is normally a personal out-of-pocket investment.  It never hurts to check with your employer who may be willing to subsidize the cost for you.  If you are in business for yourself, a conversation with your accountant would help you understand if coaching could be a business write-off for you.
